What Comes After The Challenger Sale?
It has been over a decade since Matt Dixon and Brent Adamson wrote The Challenger Sale. Fuelled by Gartner’s research, it was a wake-up call for many sales organisations that something had to change in their selling. But what exactly has happened since then? What has your sales organisation done to inspire sales teams to sell differently, adapt their behaviour, and be seen as Trusted Advisors rather than Account Managers by their customers?
As you may know, I have been leading a sales transformation for the last five years at the world’s most international logistics company. Selling with the Buyer’s Perspective has been a game-changer. Is this different from The Challenger Sale? It definitely aligns in some ways, particularly in helping customers see their challenges differently and providing insights rather than just pitching solutions. However, there are also fundamental differences:

Are Sales Enablement Platforms, CRMs and AI The Solution?
The super smart and AI-enabled CRMs and sales enablement platforms have changed the sales environment, providing more efficiency and digital assistance that did not exist before. These help understand the customer’s situation better, deliver insights, and make sales teams more efficient in focussing on the right activities. And this was needed. However, my questions are:
- Have your sales teams improved in being more effective at customer calls and meetings?
- Has your pipeline conversion increased?
- Is your top-line growth meeting your expectations?
Or, would you like to know more about how this can be achieved?
Free White Paper
The bottom line: Is your sales force creating enough value for prospects to engage? I’ve written a White Paper (THE EVOLUTION OF SALES IN A BUYERS-DRIVEN WORLD) on this exact challenge—outlining why traditional sales methods fall short and how adopting Selling with the Buyer’s Perspective changes the game.

This White Paper also includes a section on using AI to boost sales effectiveness. Sales organisations worldwide are figuring out how AI connected to their CRM can improve the efficiency of their sales teams. Not many, however, have yet made the connection that AI should help sales teams prepare for meetings and find the right insights. I elaborate more on this in the White Paper.
